Ford GT40 Coupé, 1965
Lennart Hendriksze

The Ford GT40 is a masterclass in purposeful design. Every proportion exists for a reason: impossibly low, uncompromisingly wide, and shaped almost entirely by aerodynamics, packaging and endurance. Yet this relentless pursuit of function produced one of the most enduring silhouettes in automotive history. It is a reminder that true elegance often emerges when nothing unnecessary remains.

Lennart Hendriksze translates that philosophy into bricks with remarkable sensitivity. Rather than relying on an overwhelming part count, he recreates the GT40’s unmistakable stance through a series of ingenious building techniques that constantly challenge the perceived limits of a standardized system. The result is a model that feels convincing not because it is large, but because every decision serves the overall form. What elevates the experience even further are the carefully considered custom 3D-printed elements. Used with restraint, they never distract from the build itself; instead, they quietly resolve the final compromises that transform an already exceptional MOC into something that genuinely feels like a high-end collector’s piece.

I deliberately chose a pure white version without the iconic racing stripes. Not because they don’t belong, but because I wanted nothing to compete with the sculpture itself. Without graphics, the eye begins to read only volume, proportion and light, allowing the purity of the GT40’s form to take center stage. Once again, Lennart proves that remarkable design is not a consequence of complexity, but of thoughtful resolution.
