Lamborghini LM002

Few vehicles embrace brutal functionality with as much confidence as the Lamborghini LM002. Often associated with excess, what captivates me most is something entirely different: its uncompromising geometry. Under the creative direction of Marcello Gandini, every surface feels intentional. Flat planes, sharp intersections and honest proportions create what I can only describe as architecture on wheels. There is a certain roughness to it—almost reminiscent of Vincent Van Duysen’s (@vincentvanduysenarchitects) work. Monumental, restrained and quietly confident, proving that strength never has to come at the expense of elegance.

This was my first Technic set from NifeliZ and it immediately highlighted what, in my opinion, the brand does exceptionally well. Mature design language. Thoughtful engineering. A presentation clearly aimed at collectors who appreciate objects as much as they enjoy building them. Mechanically, everything operates beautifully smooth. The only real compromise comes from the sheer mass of the model, whose construction inevitably begins to suffer under its own weight. Replacing every axle with carbon fibre transformed its rigidity and made the model feel as solid as it deserved to be.

From there, the rest became a quiet exercise in refinement. Every pin and technical element was replaced with black. The engine bay received subtle metallic detailing, original Lamborghini markings found their way onto the bodywork, and I finished it with a Liechtenstein licence plate—simply because, to me, their understated black plates are among the most elegant automotive designs ever produced. The result isn’t a different model. Just a quieter one.
